The Expressive Landscape: Discovering Oil and Cold Wax Medium
Bullclough Art School

A three day art retreat at the beautiful Bullclough Art School will take students on an exciting journey exploring the many possibilities of oil and cold wax medium. Mark making will be explored, including the use of palette knives, rubber squeedges, and rollers. Spirits will also be used to allow the paint to run or be wiped away. Oil bars, dry pigment or tissue may also be used to create body or texture. Be prepared to get playful! Capturing colour in response to the landscape will be explored and I will share my process on how to mix a stunning, expressive colour palette. This course will enable you to respond intuitively to the landscape using an exciting and expressive medium that will bring out energy, colour, atmosphere and light in your artwork. Bullclough is set within 7 acres of stunning grounds, with breathtaking uninterrupted views of the Peak District. Why not combine yoga or pilates as optional extra to the workshop? Bullclough also has its very own resident yoga teacher on hand for private sessions.
